CONSTELLATIONS

Over half of the 88 constellations the IAU recognizes today are attributed to ancient Greek, which consolidated the earlier works by the ancient Babylonian, Egyptian and Assyrian.

How can we easily find the constellations? Can they help us orientate?

Constellations are groupings of stars that create recognizable patterns in the sky.

Knowing the constellations in each hemisphere allows navigators to find their way using only the stars.
